Hi Lemunde,

I have created a module for FoundryVTT that includes Custom Resources for Ironsworn: Starforged. I was hoping to include your Time Traveler oracles and assets in the module. It appears that the license would be CC-NC-SA? Please let me know if including your work would be possible. Thanks!

There shouldn't be any problems as long as your work is noncommercial and you adhere to the license. TT follows the licensing guidelines which you can find here: https://www.ironswornrpg.com/licensing

Understood. Thanks! I’ll let you know when I have added your work to the FoundryVTT module.

On licensing: Recently there has been a lot of concern regarding Dungeons & Dragons and changes in their licensing policy in regards to derivative works. These concerns have spilled over into other products, including Ironsworn and the subsequent Starforged system.

Ironsworn creator Shawn Tomkin, as well as many other RPG developers, have taken it upon themselves to assure fans of their RPGs that something similar will not happen on their end. Licenses that allow for derivative works should not be allowed to change at a developer's whim that negatively impacts the development of derivative works. This puts fans and lower tier developers in a compromising position and discourages the creation of derivative works as a whole.

I want to take this opportunity to mirror the concerns of these developers and reiterate that the license for Starforged - Time Traveler was meant to match that of the work from which it was derived. Shawn Tomkin has posted an official statement, which expands on planned (positive) changes to the license, as well as his thoughts on the situation, which you can read at the link provided.
